Several groups host meetings for recovery from video game addiction in Zoom, Jitsi, and Telegram. We discuss many topics, including dealing with withdrawal symptoms, how to stop gaming one day at a time, and many other topics related to addiction and recovery. We share our experience, strength and hope with one another. Meetings are led by fellow gaming addicts who have volunteered.

A full schedule including specialty meetings (like languages other than English, business, meditation, and LGBTQ+ meetings) is also available.

Video is turned off by default when joining a Zoom meeting.

You can remain anonymous if you wish by using an alias, such as your middle name or just your initials.  We suggest not using any of your gamer names.

It is fine to just listen. No one is required to talk or share video or personal information.

  • Just listening is fine. You don’t have to share if you don’t want to.
  • One person shares at a time. We focus on listening to the person sharing and trying to identify. Having overlapping conversations and responses would be too distracting and difficult to follow. We avoid cross talk.
  • We share experience, strength and hope. Each person shares from personal experience. We generally refrain from theorizing, preaching, or talking about other people.
  • We refrain from advising. We might share personal experience in response to what someone else shared, but we generally refrain from giving advice or talking about the other person.
  • We respect anonymity. Each person decides how much or how little personal information to divulge. Most meeting leaders will ask attendees to treat the meeting as confidential and not gossip about who was at the meeting.
  • Topics are optional. Meetings usually have a topic for discussion. They are always optional. Anyone who has a burning question or need for help is welcome to ask. Anyone is welcome to give a brief check-in unrelated to the topic.

Any meeting labeled Closed is only for problem gamers. Anyone who thinks he or she might have a gaming problem can listen or participate.

All other meetings are Open, meaning that family and professionals are welcome to observe but not to participate.

Parents of a minor. You are welcome to observe with your child. Please accompany children who are 14 or under.
