Twelve Steps and Traditions

The Twelve Steps are a suggested program of inventory and action, empowering us with self awareness, responsibility, and strength and guidance from beyond our own self.

The Twelve Traditions are guiding principles for all GAA groups. They help us avoid controversy, division, and diversion from our primary purpose, which is to abstain from gaming and help others do the same.

Service Groups and Opportunities

GAA service

We use an upside-down pyramid to show where the power of decision-making lies in the GAA service structure.  Groups are at the top.  No one compels them to do anything, and they have the power to direct the service structure beneath them.

GAA Meetups

Each year we have some weekend retreats, like the Anniversary Meetup in the Poconos of Pennsylvania in June. It is a weekend of fun with several meetings, fellowship, home cooked meals, a barbecue, and a hike.

We broadcast an anniversary celebration meeting online for all members to join.

Winter and European retreats are also being planned. We hope to rotate the location among various states and countries in the future.
