Resources for Members
GAA has meetings for recovery from video game addiction through phone, smartphone, or computer using software like Zoom, Mumble, and Skype. Anyone who thinks he or she might have a gaming problem is welcome to come listen or participate.
What are meetings like?
Over 150 Cities Worldwide Have Groups Forming
Nothing creates a better foundation for a fulfilling game-free life than connections and friendships with people who support you in recovery, with whom you can share experience, accountability, successes, problems, setbacks, and joys.
Here we share our experience with organizing a local meeting and getting the word out to those who might need it.

Twelve Steps and Traditions
The Twelve Steps are a suggested program of inventory and action, empowering us with self awareness, responsibility, and strength and guidance from beyond our own self.
The Twelve Traditions are guiding principles for all GAA groups. They help us avoid controversy, division, and diversion from our primary purpose, which is to abstain from gaming and help others do the same.
Annual GAA Meetup
Each year in May, we celebrate the anniversary of GAA together in the Poconos of Pennsylvania. It is a weekend of fun with several meetings, fellowship, home cooked meals, a barbecue, and a hike.
We broadcast an anniversary celebration meeting online for all members to join.
A similar meetup was held on the U.S. West Coast in Autumn 2019. Once the pandemic is under control, we will plan more. We hope to rotate the location among various states and countries in the future.
