Directions for Mumble

  • Download the Mumble client software (Windows, Mac or Linux).
  • Run the install file, using its default settings.
  • Run Mumble.
  • Choose Audio Wizard in the Configure menu. Skip ahead to Voice Activity Detection and select Signal-To-Noise Ratio.
  • Skip ahead to Quality & Notifications and set Notification Settings to Keep custom Text-To-Speech Settings. Skip ahead and Finish.
  • In the Certificate Wizard in the Configure menu, choose the default settings for Certificate Authentication.
  • In the Server menu, choose Connect.
  • Click Add New…
  • Enter GAA Online, cgaa.typefrag.com, 8130, and a name and press OK.  If you get an “invalid certificate” error, choose a different name.

  • Highlight GAA Online and press the Connect button.
  • Under the Configure menu, disable Text-to-Speech.
  • Under the Configure menu, choose Settings.  Click Network and disable Download plugin and overlay updates on startup.

Find and download the Mumble app.

 

Select Favorite Servers and choose New Favorite. Enter GAA Online, cgaa.typefrag.com, port 8130, along with your user name. Leave the password blank.

Go to Preferences, Audio, Tranmission, and select Push-to-talk.

Go to Preferences, Certificate and select Generate New Certificate. If a certificate for a username does not work, try another username. A separate username is needed for each device. People typically add the device type to the end of their name, e.g. “Username (pc)”, “Username (mobile)”, and “Username (tablet)”.

From Google Play or Play Store, download the Plumble app. Click Install and accept the privacy settings.

When you open Plumble, you will see a request to generate a certificate. Click Generate.

Press the + symbol in the upper right corner.

Enter GAA Online, cgaa.typefrag.com, port 8130, along with your user name. Leave the password blank.

Connect to the server. If you get a certificate error, select Allow to continue. If it is rejected, choose another user name.

Use the microphone symbol to mute and un-mute.

Click on the server menu icon to disable Text-to-Speech.
